Frequently Asked Questions
Updating your front door is one way to redo the outside of a mobile home. Replacing your old, outdated front door makes your mobile home feel more welcoming. You might also consider replacing the siding with something offering greater energy efficiency. If you want to get fancy, build a deck or porch for entertaining.
It’s possible to repaint mobile home walls if you use the right materials and techniques. Most mobile homes have vinyl-on-gypsum (VOG) walls rather than standard drywall, which makes painting a bit of a challenge. You’ll need to use acrylic primer (all-in-one primer doesn’t work well for vinyl walls) and acrylic latex paint. You may also want to consider removing the battens between VOG panels and sanding the seams for a smoother look.
Mobile homes offer plenty of investment value if you make the right upgrades. Custom additions and functional space optimization upgrades can boost the sale price of your mobile home by thousands. You might also try placing your building in a well-manicured manufactured home community. It’ll attract more potential buyers in a nice neighborhood than it would sitting on a random plot of land.
You can put a TV on the wall of your mobile home if you use the right hanging technique. The studs of mobile home walls are spaced differently than they are in regular homes, which typically have the studs spaced about 16 to 24 inches apart. You must locate the studs before hanging your TV; otherwise, it’ll fall to the ground and break or injure someone.
If you’re unsure how to find the studs, call us for mobile home construction in Escondido.

About Escondido, CA
Escondido (Spanish for "Hidden"; Kumeyaay: Eskondiid) is a city in San Diego County's North County region, 30 miles (48 km) northeast of downtown San Diego, 15 miles from the ocean, and 40 miles from the Mexican border. The city occupies a shallow valley ringed by rocky hills. Incorporated in 1888, it is one of the oldest cities in San Diego County. It has a population of 151,038 as of the 2020 census. == Etymology == "Escondido" is a Spanish word meaning "hidden". One source says the name originally referred to agua escondida or hidden water; another says it meant "hidden treasure".The city is known as Eskondiid in Kumeyaay. == History == The Escondido area was first settled by the Luiseño, who established campsites and villages along the creek running through the area. They named the place Mixéelum Pompáwvo or "Mehel-om-pom-pavo." The Luiseno also had another village north of Mixéelum Pompáwvo called Panakare. The Kumeyaay migrated from areas near the Colorado River, settling both in the San Pasqual Valley and near the San Dieguito River in the southwestern and western portions of what is now Escondido. Most of the villages and campsites today have been destroyed by development and agriculture.
