What Desert Conditions Do to a Mobile Home
Desert heat, sun, and blowing sand drive nearly all of the work we do in the valley.
Cooling That Cannot Keep Up
In valley summers, an undersized system or a leaking under-floor duct run will never catch up. We repair and replace HVAC and check the ducts, roof, and insulation together.
Sun-Destroyed Roofs & Exteriors
Relentless UV breaks down roofing, paint, awnings, and skirting faster here than anywhere else we work. Insulated metal roofing helps with both protection and interior heat.
Blowing Sand & Wind
Wind-driven sand scours finishes and works its way past skirting and seals. We repair skirting, awnings, carports, and the seals that keep sand and heat out.
Homes Closed Up for the Season
Seasonal residents often return to a failed AC unit or a leak that ran for months. We handle those catch-up repairs and the damage that came with them.

Why Cathedral City Homeowners Call Cal Star
Desert homes need a different set of priorities. Cooling capacity, roof performance, and sealing against sand matter far more here than they do at the coast, and equipment that is merely adequate elsewhere fails in a valley August.
Cal Star works only on mobile homes and serves the Coachella Valley as part of Riverside County. Estimates are free, we are licensed and insured, and senior, veteran, and first responder discounts are available.

What Cathedral City Homeowners Say
“It gets hot here and our old roof was not helping. Cal Star put on white metal roofing and replaced the vents that had been leaking.”
FAQ
Cathedral City Questions, Answered
My AC runs constantly and the house is still hot. Why?
In the valley that is often the ducts rather than the unit. Mobile home ducts run under the floor, and a crushed or disconnected run wastes much of the cool air before it reaches a vent. The roof and insulation matter too.
Is insulated metal roofing worth it in the desert?
It is one of the more effective changes you can make here. An insulated metal roof reflects heat and adds an insulating layer, which takes real load off the cooling system.
I am only here part of the year. Can you work while I am away?
We can often coordinate that, depending on the job and on park access. Talk it through with us when you call so expectations are clear on both sides.
Sand keeps getting under my home. Can that be sealed?
Largely, yes. Repairing skirting and sealing the gaps around it keeps out sand and helps with heat and moisture at the same time.
